GARDEN OF AUTUMN formed in Pescara in August 1999. The project is to play dark music. In August 2000 they make their first Demo CD, At the Borders of the Day, recorded by Stefano Ciccotelli and Alberto Iacone.

Studio line-up is:

  • Giorgio Grimaldi - vocals
  • Bruno Ciarfella - guitars
  • Massimo Giuliano - keyboard
  • Daniele Valeri - bass guitar
  • Alessandro Pagano - drums

After some live shows in the area to promote the Demo CD, the band follows a more definite music direction, achieving a Death, Doom and Dark Wave blend. Then, they record the second Demo CD, Stasis, at Comet Studio in January 2002: recording, mixing and mastering by Gabriele Fratini e Luca Nicolucci. Stasis gets a good reception by the music genre lovers; moreover it is positively reviewed by web magazines such as eutk.net, musicalnews.com and metalloitaliano.it and by magazines such as Metal Hammer and Grind Zone.

Studio line-up is:

  • Giorgio Grimaldi - vocals, piano and synthesizers
  • Bruno Ciarfella - guitars
  • Daniele Valeri - bass guitar
  • Alessandro Pagano - drums

Very soon after the Demo CD coming out, Alessandro Petrini on guitars joins the band. With the passing of time, after a short period of a Death-oriented songwriting, the band moves more and more towards a sound close to the Scandinavian avantgarde-metal, but keeping its background. Come into being the tracks of the first album, Hymns of Morning and Liberty, coming out under Black Desert Records in 2009. In order to carry out it, Garden of Autumn addressed once again to the experience of Gabriele Fratini and Luca Nicolucci, now as Comet Broadcasting Studio. The recordings of the new work take place between June and September 2008, while mixing and mastering in the months of October and November. Meanwhile, in August, after recording the bass guitar sections of the album, Daniele Valeri chooses to follow different paths; so in September Vincenzo Scarpone joins the band.

The current line up is:

  • Giorgio Grimaldi - vocals, piano and synthesizers
  • Bruno Ciarfella - guitars
  • Alessandro Petrini - guitars
  • Vincenzo Scarpone - bass guitar
  • Alessandro Pagano - drums

Hymns of Morning and Liberty features three guests who enriched the entire work thanks to their contribution. Fabrizio Carota of MY DARK SIN and Eugenio Paludi of EYE 2 8 with their vocal parts, and No1 of EYE 2 8 on acoustic guitar. The cover artwork is an engraving by Daniele Gay. Hymns of Morning and Liberty includes five tracks that, even being different from what the band proposed in the past, represent the current development of that idea that during the years has never been abandoned: a unity of sound that is in itself a space for the difference of sound, for the variety of sound.
